The Tariff of Qualifications (ITT) shows the relationship between post-16 initial teacher training (ITT) qualifications available in England prior to September 2007 and the new teaching/training qualifications, which have since been introduced, as shown in this framework:
FE teaching qualifications framework (England)
The Tariff of Qualifications (ITT) generally includes classes of qualifications, which are mapped to the mandatory units of assessment developed from the ‘New overarching professional standards for teachers, tutors and trainers’. It does not map individually named qualifications from specific awarding organisations, unless specifically identified as such. Consequently, a qualification delivered by a specific awarding organisations may go beyond the Tariff. It is the responsibility of the ITT provider and/or awarding organisation to justify and declare where their students should enter the programme in terms of advanced standing, or any Accreditation of Prior Achievement (APA).
The Tariff of Qualifications (ITT) is intended as a guide, which can be used to ensure that you start your journey to Associate or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (ATLS/QTLS) status at the appropriate stage of the new qualifications. Check out your qualification on the Tariff of Qualifications (ITT) .
The Tariff can also be used to underpin:
qualification design and endorsement
human resources recruitment and development
individual continuing professional development plans
