Free-Standing Mathematics Qualifications (FSMQ)

When were they available?

Free-Standing Mathematics Qualifications (FSMQs) are qualifications in mathematics that became part of the national qualifications framework in September 2000.

Where would I have studied?

FSMQs can be taken in a variety of settings including schools; further education (FE) colleges and universities.

How would I have been assessed?

FSMQ can be taken by students of all ages following many different courses including GCSE, GNVQs, AS/A levels, Vocational A levels, ACCESS, Foundation and many others.

What result would I have achieved?

Certificates awarded by the following awarding bodies: AQA, OCR.

FSMQs at advanced and intermediate level may be used as evidence of personal skills in numeracy.
