When were they available?
Under and post graduate degrees are usually taken by people over the age of 18 years.
Where would I have studied?
Degrees are qualifications which are generally taken at university, further education (FE) colleges and via distance learning, for example the Open University (OU).
How would I have been assessed?
Taken over 3 or 4 years (and sometimes longer), full or part time degrees are awarded by Higher education institutions (HEIs).
Assessment is varied including assignments, dissertations, examinations and work placement reports etc.
What result would I have achieved?
Degrees are validated by over 150 HEIs which must be ‘recognised bodies’ by the UK authorities (UK and Scottish Parliament, Welsh and Northern Ireland Assemblies).
Batchelor of Arts (BA), Batchelor of Science (BSc), Master of Arts (MA), Master of Science (MSc), and Doctorates in English language, literature, communication and maths are included in the approved list at this time.
