Steve Drowley
Steve Drowley is currently Programme Manager for the Community Education BA at the University Of Wales Institute Cardiff, a post he took up in September 2007. This relatively new role sees him as gamekeeper turned poacher, since for the previous four and a half years he worked for the National Youth Agency managing the workforce development and quality standards portfolios. In this role he had responsibility for the professional validation of HE Youth and Community Work professional qualifying programmes through the work of the Education and Training Standards Committee. He also oversaw the development of The NYAs Quality Mark, and managed the Agency's innovations programme.
A former Principal Youth Officer for Devon, Steve is also an Additional Inspector for Ofsted and Estyn, and has worked in both the maintained and voluntary sectors in Youth Work, Community Education and Secondary Education.
Steve lives in South Wales and enjoys the hills, mountains and coastline of his adoptive country - and the odd occasion when England play Wales in Cardiff!
