Recognition of Prior Learning Outcomes (RPLO)

SVUK forms part of a consortium of nine partners from five countries who are working on the Recognition of Prior Learning Outcomes (RPLO) Project.  A Leonardo funded Transfer of Innovation Project, it aims to improve the attractiveness and effectiveness of the VET Teachers and Trainers profession in the UK and partner countries. For RPLO queries click here.

A new unit of learning for RPLO at level 5 (15 credits) has been developed.  At a recent meeting of the UCET Post-16 Committee, it was recognised that this Unit provided a generic framework which could be used within HEI programmes.

Support materials for this approach to Initial Teacher/Trainer Education as well as CPD will be available from the RPLO project by early July 2010.  For more information, please connect Prof. John Konrad the RPLO Project Coordinator at john.konrad@talktalk.net.

The project group is holding a dissemination event at Cambridge Assessment on 10 September 2010. The event will be of interest to anyone engaged with developing policy and practice in recognition of prior learning and will give delegates the opportunity to learn more about the work of the project and examine developments in this area across the European Community.
