Hilary Stone
Hilary Stone has worked in the education sector for 34 years. She began her career teaching in schools. She has taught and held leadership roles in FE Colleges for 26 years, most recently as Vice Principal at Oxford and Cherwell Valley College (OCVC).
Before OCVC she spent two years in a national role as Director of Quality and Standards at the Further Education National Training Organisation (FENTO), before it joined with other parts of the learning and skills sector to form Lifelong Learning UK.
Hilary is passionate about raising standards in the sector so we can provide a fit-for-purpose education system which enables accessibility and participation for each individual to fulfil his or her potential.
Her Master in Education included research into the leadership of change, quality improvement and equal opportunities. In 2009 her research report entitled Leading Multi-Faith Teams in the Learning and Skills Sector was published by the Centre for Excellence for which she was awarded a research prize.
Hilary is a qualified coach and works with leaders towards realising their full potential. She is a member of the Women's Leadership Network Committee, City and Guilds National Advisory Committee for Education and Training and a Trustee for the Family Support Centre in Shirley.
