Qualifications with interim endorsement under the September 2007 ITT regulations

Standards Verification UK (SVUK) has now granted interim endorsement to over 360 new initial teacher training (ITT) qualifications.

The document shown below contains a list of qualifications endorsed under the new regulations in force from September 2007. Interim endorsement status has been awarded in the first instance because some information was not available at the time the qualifications were developed. Full endorsement status will be awarded through SVUK's monitoring process.

Endorsement is given to qualifications in the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). Those working in higher education will meet different regulatory requirements from those laid down by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) and do not work within the QCF. However, to retain articulation between the national awarding bodies and the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), the programmes developed by the HEIs are based on units of assessment. The second column on the table of endorsed qualifications (below) shows the endorsed element as endorsed against the QCF. Qualifications shown as '+', for example 'CTLLS +', consist of the units required for that qualification plus additional units or qualifications where the unit size is bigger than the units in the QCF.

The partially integrated route is a pathway within the Level 5 Diploma for Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector. In part 1 (the first 60 credits) there are designated pathways for Literacy, Numeracy and ESOL. This is an integrated qualification with no requirement to gain an additional subject specialist qualification. These qualifications are shown as PI in the second column of the table of endorsed qualifications.
